Humanity is slowly growing up. These decades are of our turbulent adolescence. We oscillate between hope and despair, and looking at the world, there are many reasons for both.
Our Mission:
Co-evolution, Not Competition between Humans and AI
In this critical moment of social and technological transformations, we believe AI is not a replacement for human intelligence but a collaborative partner.
To that end, we developed the wisdom-fostering Collaborative Hybrid Intelligence (CHI) framework, and are working on prototypes guided by it. Organizations interested in serving as a testbed for them are invited to contact us.
Our work focuses on:
- Developing AI technologies and AI-assisted processes that amplify individual and collective human creativity
- Closing the gap between the current state of the human-AI interplay and its potential for supporting the transition to a regenerative future
- Exploring ethical frameworks for responsible AI development that includes principles and guidelines for encouraging the realization of AI’s highest potential for human flourishing.
- Creating pathways for meaningful human interactions with wisdom-guided and wisdom-fostering AI.
Our North Star
One more WHY: Piercing the Fog
The world soup is boiling, and there’s nobody in the kitchen to turn down the heat.
It is a metaphor not only for the global warming of the planet but also for the societal soup of competing narratives, fake news, and disinformation campaigns mingling together with honest guesses of what on Earth is happening.
Humanity is building bridges to the other shore in the fog of the liminal space between worlds, a fog of not knowing the shape of our Emerging Planetary Reality and the gifts and losses it brings. We want to contribute to piercing that fog with the torchlight of our research initiatives and the Future HOW Center as a whole.
Our intended contribution includes catalyzing emergent collective wisdom of concerned researchers, practitioners, citizen scientists, and anybody who wishes to participate in building the bridges as we walk on them.
