Mario Spassov

I am a Bulgarian-born, Austrian-raised cosmopolitan who has lived between different cultures all his life. Experiencing the strengths of various cultures firsthand has significantly shaped my interest in fostering mutual understanding between people and worldviews.
As a frontend software engineer, I build tools with practical impact and create precisely the kind of supportive infrastructure that facilitates better communication, helping us connect across social and cultural divides.
I have five years of experience with common JavaScript frameworks such as React and Angular, and the major technologies surrounding them, from styling with tools like Sass, SCSS, and Tailwind, to testing with React Testing Library and managing state with Redux and MobX.
My background in philosophy of Bildung and theory of mind further enables me to conceptually identify challenges to mutual recognition at the level of cognitive processes themselves—challenges that may require technological scaffolding.
One of my core interests in recent years has been exploring how social annotation can help people self-organize to navigate and master complex topics together, even without a shared cultural background but only with a shared process and structure.
